Hello, crafty humans! Today I have a trio of cards using Lawn Fawn’s Stripey Background die and acetate to give a see-through background effect. You will see that these are all masculine style cards but you could easily change the colours, stamps and paper to suit anyone’s needs.
I used the same basic technique and materials for all three cards. Using the Stripey Background die I cut two pieces from Kraft cardstock for each card. I then cut a piece of acetate that was large enough for the card front plus a bit of overhang (about 4.5″ x 7.5″) and sandwiched it in between the two background die cuts. I scored the acetate and sandwiched the overhang in between white card and decorative paper (both measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″) to finish creating the base. For the toppers I used different sizes of oval dies from My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched Oval Dies.
For the first card, I used various images from Lawn Fawn’s Dad & Me stamps to create the scene and part of the sentiment, and Avery Elle’s We R Family Additions for the rest of the sentiment. I used Copic markers to colour the bears and a bit of Distress Ink to create the background.

For the next card, I used a sentiment from My Favorite Things’ For the Boys stamp set and while you can’t see it here, I also used a bit of Wink of Stella over the stamped sentiment to give it a little bit of pop. 🙂 I also used a blue stripe patterned paper from MFT’s Rainbow Stripes 6×6 paper pad. Also, you’ll see on this card and the next, that I realised that a stitched frame around the edge of the card finishes it off a bit better.
For the last card, I used these sweet foxes from Lawn Fawn’s Mom & Me stamp set and a green stripe paper from My Favorite Things’ Rainbow Stripes 6×6 paper pad. I coloured the little critters with Copics. I don’t have a picture of it either, but I added glasses to the Daddy Fox (it was for my husband and he wears glasses!) and it was so cute! The glasses are in the Dad & Me stamp set.
I did cut out additional ovals for the inside sentiment and another for the backside of the Copic coloured ovals because you could see the ink through to the inside of the card. I left the one with the Kraft oval alone but you could certainly add another oval to the back to give if you prefer.
That’s all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by and…
See Y’all next time!
