CAS Birthday Bear Card

Hi everyone! I have a clean and simple card for you today. For some reason I generally tend to make my cards quite detailed and intricate despite often times starting out trying to create a simple, yet well designed card. Maybe its because I’m learning so many new techniques and just want to use them all in one card. 🙂

At any rate, I made this card for my dear friend who can’t ever resist sweets – especially at work when they come into the break room at work. Then she’ll go around for the rest of the day saying she shouldn’t have eaten it but often I catch her having a few sneaky extra bites when I go to get another cup of coffee lol.

I used My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday stamps and dies for this card. I chose the image of the bear who’s apparently been eating a load of cake as he’s laid up against it rubbing his cute belly. I thought it’d be the perfect choice for my friend! I chose the sentiment ‘So much cake, So little room’ from the same stamp set. All I had to do was have fun colouring my images then cut them out on my Cuttlebug using the matching die set. I trimmed a piece of patterned paper and adhered to the bottom of the card. Then glued my bear and gifts to the bottom right and stamped the sentiment on the left and I was done! Oh, I also stamped matching sentiments on the inside that also came with the set. And for a final touch, I stamped a different image of the bear – this time carrying the cake – for the back of the envelope so it looks like he’s delivering the very same cake the bear on the inside eats! Ah, I just love these stamps!!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out this set yet, you should . Its super cute and can be used in a variety of ways. I definitely will be using it again – and most likely on a pop-up box. So, back to my old ways of intricate and complicated cards! 🙂

Bye for now!
