Baby Boy Little Bundle Card

Hello fellow crafters! Sorry I haven’t had a blog post in a while, I’ve been busy preparing for my daughter’s first birthday and her first trip to visit her American familly in Virginia. I still have quite a lot of things to unpack – along with some crafty goodies I got in America – so it may be a few weeks yet before I can be a bit more consistent with new card makes and posts. I appreciate you hanging in there with me!

Today I’m sharing a card I made for my cousin’s baby shower, which I was so delighted to attend while on my trip home. I’ve had this adorable stamp set by Lawn Fawn for a little while now and have been itching to play around with it. I had so much fun making this card and am very proud with the final product. The colour scheme is based on the colours she’s decorated the nursery – kelly green and navy. I can’t wait to give it to her – she’s gonna love it, I know!

After I coloured all of the tiny clothes, I got the idea to use baker’s twine as the line instead of the stamp that comes with the set. I thought it was such a neat touch, however, when I opened the card, some of the clothes flipped upwards and you could see the back of the white card which wasn’t the prettiest sight as some of the Copic colouring had seeped through. And, I didn’t want to adhere them to the card front because then I lost a bit of that movement that using the twine gave me. So, I stamped the clothes out again and did a rough coloring of them so they looked like the back of the clothes! I considered using a stamp kissing technique but since you won’t really see the back, I just loosely drew in the arms on the vest and the seams of the socks. So, it took me a bit more work for the final product but I really do love the way it turned out. Next, I need to create a little girl version!

As I typically do, I created a matching envelope and liner and I really think it adds a professional touch.
