After entering my first ever design in a card challenge earliet this week, I figured I’d keep it up! Here’s a cheerful card i’m entering in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This week, there is a photo inspiration with ocean scenes and all the pretty colours that go along with it.
My cousin loves herself a sun so I thought I would make her a fun birthday card that’s sure to brighten her day! I used a variety of dies to create the scene. My Favorite Things Puffy Clouds and Stitched Rainbow, Reverse Confetti Sunburst Cover Panel, Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Frames, and WPlus9 Sending Sunshine stamp set. I also used lots of beautiful cardstock (mostly) from Stampin’ UP!
To create the sunburst, I cut the sunburst cover panel die twice, first time in blue, then again in yellow. I then put the yellow cutouts into the blue panel to give it the inlay look. Since I’ll be mailing this internationally I didn’t want to add a lot of weight by putting together the die on top of white cardstock covered with adhesive. Instead, I just together of my craft mat and carefull turned it over and used clear scotch tape to keep the pieces together. Then I simply topped it off with Wink of Stella on all parts of the inlaid sun and it was instantly sparkly! I then die cut the Stitched Rainbow in several colours to create my rainbow. So fun!
